We first learned that we were expecting our first bundle of joy March of 2000. We ran and excitedly told the news first to Rae Greene and Christina Arroyo, two of my best friends. Eventually, we told the rest of the family, and everyone was just thrilled This new little baby’s expected date of arrival was October 22, 2000.

I first noticed this life inside of me when I felt hiccups in my belly. I prepared by reading every book and magazine, that I could find, pertaining to babies and children. We went out and bought a crib, clothes, toys, and everything he/she would need before we even found out the sex. We even moved to another house just so that there would be more room for the whole family. We picked a baby Loony Toon theme.

The only craving I had with this pregnancy was coconut cream pie, which I did go out and buy at 1:00am one morning.

Around my sixth month of pregnancy, we finally had two names picked out that we just loved, but soon after we found out that we were going to have a beautiful GIRL.

There was no question that her name would be Kiana Danialle Elizabeth Foley. The name Kiana just came from a baby name book, and we fell in love with it right away. We picked Danialle because it meant “God is my judge”, and your second middle name was added because there were so many Elizabeth’s in the family.

There was no one more excited of the upcoming birth than me. I always wanted to be a mommy, and I always wanted a girl first!
