Message From Me

Words can not describe what I feel for you, my child, with your beautiful blue eyes and soft hair. You are everything that I hoped for and more. I can’t believe how much I love you, yet I have only known you for hours. I hope you go through life filled with happiness and joy, the kind that I have now that you are here. I love you so much sweetheart. You are my angel.

Message From Father

You are everything me and your mom expected you to be. You’re beautiful and you seem to love us very much. Right now you’re three days and eight hours old and you’re going through your first trial in life. Me and mom are praying everyday that you will grow to be healthy and strong. Mommy and Daddy love you very much.

Coming Home and First Night
We came home with Kiana on October 27, 2000 after spending one night at Bay Medical Center, one night at Gulf Coast Medical Center (Panama City, Florida), and then five nights at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

The day was sunny and breezy. She wore a pink outfit with strawberries on it that was given to us by a friend. It was a long drive home (517 Cactus Ave. Panama City, Florida), but we were greeted by family who had a nice meal (spighetti and meatballs, garlic bread, tea) made. They had even cleaned the entire house.

Kiana slept most of the first night, only waking twice to feed. She was an easier baby than we had anticipated, only crying when she was obviously hungry or needing a diaper change.

Kiana's great-grandmother, Libby, decided to stay with us for whatever length of time to help us, and she couldn't put her down. We even had trouble convincing her to let other family and friends hold her. I even had trouble getting to hold her!
